A Highly Trainable Breed | The German Shepherd
One of the best things about the German Shepherd dog is how easy the breed is to train. German Shepherds are intelligent and loyal, keenly observant and quick to recognize patterns – patterns that include positive and negative reinforcement alike. They are widely known as one of the most “trainable” dogs in the field – whether you want to instruct your dog to perform tricks for the benefit of party guests or you're just looking for a dog that knows how to perform “work” chores in a rural environment like a farm. But just because the German Shepherd is a particularly trainable breed does not mean that your new puppy will arrive home knowing everything about how to behave, where to lift his leg, or when and when not to bark. Remember the maxim - “there are no bad dogs, only bad owners.” Show your German Shepherd the love and respect he or she needs and use a firm yet loving hand when it comes to training him or her and you're bound to be crowing “sit” “stay” and “roll over” in no time!
